Psychology is the systematic investigation into behavior and mental processes - akin to deciphering a poem or song to uncover insights about our Creator's wisdom and love. Through psychology, we explore aspects of life that reveal ity’s relationship with God and illuminate the context of the Great Controversy in which we live. It encompasses every area touched by s, thus expanding potential across diverse fields such as brn efficiency, child development, learning capabilities, cultural diversity understanding, and influencing others. When approached through Bible-based Christianity, psychology becomes a potent tool for spreading the gospel.

Ms. Cherian, what drew you to study psychology at Weimar University?

During my career in preventative and community health, I recognized the crucial need to address mental health issues among patients seeking care for physical concerns. My formal trning in this area was lacking, leading me to explore options that could enhance my expertise. The distinctive aspects of Weimar’s programs resonated with my values: its commitment to Bible truths and Spirit of Prophecy teachings provided a strong moral foundation. It became evident that Weimar would be instrumental in equipping me for my future eavors.

Dr. Garcia, how do you integrate fth-based principles into your psychology curriculum?

Psalm 16:8 underscores our constant reliance on God as the source of stability. Our program is designed to trn therapists who seek guidance from Scripture amidst prevling worldviews and trs that sometimes conflict with biblical teachings in psychology. By incorporating courses like Moral Identity and Fth of the Christian Counselor, students learn to develop a moral identity grounded in Scripture, ensuring that their therapeutic approach aligns with Christian values.

Are there other distinguishing features of this program?

Our Principles of Health course underscores the holistic nature of our Counseling Psychology Wellness program. Additionally, the Clinical Neuroscience and Psychopathology course includes an immersive 10-day experience shadowing the Nedley Depression Anxiety Recovery Program for hands-on trning on managing mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. These practical components are unique to Weimar University.

The distinctive philosophy of our program is its m for healing that goes beyond merely relieving suffering but seeks to eliminate it entirely by addressing spiritual needs. This holistic approach acknowledges the interconnectedness between mind, body, and spirit, leading to more effective therapy outcomes.

Ms. Cherian, how do counseling and wellness integrate with this program?

Traditionally, there has been a divide between mental health and physical health care, which often impedes our understanding of their interrelation. Recognizing the significance of balanced living on mental health is crucial in both counseling centers and lifestyle improvement programs. Weimar's program empowers individuals to incorporate Christ as the ultimate healer into therapy sessions, accelerating recovery significantly.
